4. The Specials Live In Session for 6 Music Air Date 10/05/21: This performance finds the band live from the BBC radio theater recorded live on Wednesday the 29th of September 2021. The Specials started making music in the late 1970s and pioneered the 2 Tone movement. They are live in session for Steve Lamacq on BBC Radio 6 Music. The Specials join Steve Lamacq live in the BBC Radio Theatre to play tracks from the upcoming new album Protest Songs – 1924-2012, released on 1st October.

The new album features the band’s take on a series of protest songs, originally performed by the likes of Talking Heads, Leonard Cohen, Bob Marley and Leonard Cohen. It’s the band’s first release since the chart-topping Encore which came out in 2019.
