Description

Product background and history: Recordings found here are from 1989 to 1991.

The “Promo Videos” section contains five of the six music videos that had already been published on the 1989 UK only PAL VHS album Push Over, and six music videos of the later singles released by the twins alone without Craig. The sixth music video of the Push Over album, Silent Night seen here for the first time as part of a official release, is included in the bonus features.

The “Live Concert” section (Bros Live – The Big Push Tour) contains a live recording of the concert Bros at The Hammersmith Odeon (2nd of July 1988), London UK. This live concert had already been published in the UK only on PAL VHS and LaserDisc.

In addition to the bonus video “Silent Night”, the “Bonus Features” section mainly consists of a 1988 documentary called “The Story So Far”, showing interviews with Bros and scenes from a TV concert with interview segments. Also included in the bonus features is a EXTREMELY RARE MTV Music News segment on BROS from 28th of August 1988. PLEASE NOTE: This particular news segment was NOT on the official Region 2 release of this collection and is EXCLUSIVE to MVR’s Region 1 2 DVD Set

After much demand from fans to release these VHS titles on DVD (an updated music video collection along with the Hammersmith concert) a DVD was in fact released. The only issue with the DVD version (like the UK PAL VHS releases years earlier) was the fact that it was released exclusively in United Kingdom and only in the PAL Region 2 format making DVD impossible to play for all of the North American fans along with the bands following in Canada.

American and Canadian Fans demanded a NTSC Region 1 version of the DVD back in 2005 when the initial DVD was released in UK but it never happened. Finally after all of this, the RARE Region 2 UK only DVD was discontinued making it extremely rare and impossible to find. Latest search turned up the original UK Region 2 DVD as a USED ITEM for as much as “$99.95″ from a website we won’t list.

Now, here for the first time is a direct remastered transfer from the ORIGINAL PAL Region 2 DVD to our USA and Canada DVD version in Region 1 NTSC playable on ALL DVD Players in the USA and Canada.

Band History: Bros were the boyband of the 80’s. They stood head and shoulders above all the other pop contenders of the era. Bursting onto the scene in spring of 1988 with their debut release “When Will I Be Famous”, it stormed up the charts. Twin brothers Matt and Luke Goss, together with Craig Logan, had become the pinups for a new generation and were followed at every turn by thousands of screaming girls, in scenes reminiscent of Beatlemania. By the time they disbanded in 1991, Bros had made an indelible entry in pop history.
