Description
Released on the long since discontinued and deleted formats of VHS, CDV and LaserDisc, the following is a NEW REMASTER in Dolby Digital 2.0 Stereo Sound for the first time! This concert is so completely rare that not only was it not released in America in ANY format but it was never even released anywhere in the world except for Japan!
This REMASTERED DVD is sourced directly from the original high quality Japan imported LaserDisc and remastered to DVD for the first time ever! Quality is unmatched as it transferred from the long since deleted LaserDisc Master from nearly 45 years ago.
Background: The concert was released on VHS only in the UK, the Netherlands, Australia, Italy, Japan, and the US, with releases spanning from 1986 through 1989. The LaserDisc edition of Live Barrowland Glasgow was issued exclusively in Japan, the UK, and the US during the same period, with no other countries receiving a LaserDisc release, most likely due to licensing restrictions at the time. The original Japan LaserDisc release was used as the source for the remastering of this DVD, and this particular LaserDisc—capturing Big Country at one of the peaks of the band’s career—is now extremely rare. There was a brief reissue of this historic concert on CD and DVD in 2009; however, because of its limited pressing, the combo pack now commands prices of up to £150 sterling, and was never reissued after that first pressing. With the sole exception of this short-lived 2009 release, this vintage concert has never been officially offered on DVD in any country until now.
So here, offered in the best possible quality, available is the REMASTERED from LaserDisc to DVD for all you BIG COUNTRY devotees and collectors!
Description: Having already secured a platinum album, Big Country was rapidly building a reputation for not just reproducing their studio sound live, but elevating it. At their absolute peak, the band delivered a remarkably tight, stirring, and emotional performance, driven by thundering drums and searing guitars that framed frontman Stuart Adamson’s powerful vocals.”
