Description
“CrazySexyCool: The TLC Story.” follows TLC’s humble beginnings in Atlanta, which quickly led to an unprecedented rise to fame in the 1990’s as one of the world’s most talented, celebrated and highest-selling female groups of all time. Through very public and high profile success, turmoil and tragedy, TLC left an indelible stamp of female empowerment that changed the face of the music industry forever.
Heartbreak. Abortion. Fame. Sickle-cell anemia. Financial struggles. Internal group conflict. While there were a couple of off-key moments, overall, VH1 nailed it with CrazySexyCool: The TLC Story.
Starring Keke Palmer, Drew Sidora, and Lil’ Mama as the celebrated R&B trio, the biopic portrayed the group’s rise to fame. It was so realistic, at one point, I thought I was watching the actual group members play themselves.
The film stars KeKe Palmer (“Akeela & The Bee,” “True Jackson VP,” “Joyful Noise”) as Rozonda “Chilli” Thomas, Lil Mama (“America’s Best Dance Crew”) as Lisa “Left Eye” Lopes, and Drew Sidora (“Step Up,” “Wild Hogs,” “The Game”) as Tionne “T-Boz” Watkins.
