1. A&E’s Biography Channel 1/10/2008: In-Depth interview with all band members. A full album by album profile of each album step by step. A very literal documentary of Duran’s career. Included are the behind the scenes studio sessions for Red Carpet Massacre and their residency at The Barrymore Theatre in New York City October November 2007. Also interviewed are Session Musician for DD Andy Hamilton (Saxaphone), Co-Manager Paul Berrow (1980-1987), Paul Gambaccini Presenter & Music Historian, Dylan Jones Editor GQ Magazine Designer and Steve Malins Author of Duran Duran Notorious. The strikingly handsome quintet from Birmingham, led by singer Simon Le Bon and keyboardist Nick Rhodes, pumped out three decades of top hits including “Hungry Like the Wolf”, “Rio”, “Save A Prayer” and “The Reflex”. Their music videos, often shot in exotic locales around the world, became MTV chart-toppers. Their equally popular live act peaked with a global audience of millions at 1985’s “Live Aid”.
2. VH1 Classic’s “Classic Albums” 5/09: In-Depth interview with all band members and NEW live performance clips. This documentary concentraits strictly on the making of the Rio album and the period during that time in the history of Duran Duran. What makes this particular documentary stand out is two different features. 1. The never before seen out take footage of music videos from the band during the shooting of the three videos in Shri Lanka. Out takes can be seen from the music videos Rio, Hungry Like The Wolf and Save A Prayer. 2. That all members are in the recording studio playing the masters of the the Rio album separating the sounds so you can hear for the first time individual sounds that made up the various songs of Rio. Other rare footage includes the early day photos and footage of when the band first formed. Also interviewed are Designer Anthony Price who designed the suits for the Rio Video, Bob Geldof, Duran’s Photographer Denis O’Regan, Duran’s Co-Manager Paul Berrow (1980-1987) and Russell Mulcahy Video Director.
