Description
Released exclusively on VHS between 1986 and 1989 in various countries including France, Australia, New Zealand, and South America, The Whole Story was finally released on LaserDisc in 1991 in the United States, followed by releases in Japan and Europe between 1991 and 1993. Despite its international success and multiple home video releases, this classic Kate Bush music video collection has NEVER been officially released on DVD until NOW!
This 2026 REMASTERED DVD has been sourced directly from the original high-quality American LaserDisc master and transferred to DVD for the very first time. Carefully preserved from the long-deleted LaserDisc released over THIRTY FIVE years ago, this presentation offers the finest quality currently available from the original source. As the premier home video format of its era, the LaserDisc delivers superior picture and sound quality compared to VHS, making it the ideal source for this remaster.
Background: Released to accompany Kate Bush’s first greatest hits album of the same name, The Whole Story brings together the original promotional videos spanning her career from Wuthering Heights through Experiment IV, the new single recorded specifically for the compilation. Originally issued on VHS throughout much of Europe and on Betamax in the United States, the NTSC LaserDisc edition was later released in Europe, Japan, and the USA, with the American LaserDisc serving as the source for this remaster. Original LaserDisc copies remain highly collectible today, often selling for $30.00 or more on the secondary market. Having never received an official DVD release anywhere in the world, The Whole Story is finally available on DVD for the first time for Kate Bush collectors.
Another original collector’s release from your team at MVR!
