This REMASTERED DVD is sourced directly from the original high quality LaserDisc to DVD for the first time ever! Quality is unmatched as it transferred from the long since deleted LaserDisc from nearly THIRTY years ago.

Background information: This extremely rare live concert recorded in Japan was released on VHS only in the USA and Germany in 1993. The only other format released of this rare concert was in the USA on LaserDisc. However, the LaserDisc wasn’t released in the USA until five years later on 21sr of January 1998. Because of its late 90s release on LaserDisc was never reissued that’s making the first and only pressing of the LaserDisc in 1998 very rare. Prices for the item used are priced as high as close to $100 when researching this item at the time of this description. To this day the USA is the only country that released this concert on LaserDisc.

Some audiophiles and sound purists argue that unless the remastering process includes completely “lossless” compression of audio that no matter how it may be converted/processed to surround sound or better, it still is compressed audio thus producing some say a more audibly muddled sound. This is due to the lessening of the dynamic range between the loudest and quietest parts of the audio signal thus producing some distortion and a clipping audio effect. The DVD offered here is from the original LaserDisc release back in 1998. Because of the large 12 inch size of the LaserDisc format it can easily support the amount of physical space required to successfully playback large uncompressed sound. This Remastered DVD features the original completely uncompressed live audio recordings allowing the original true recorded mix of each song  to come alive as it was originally intended to be heard in optimum sound quality. This original mix featured with completely uncompressed audio is exclusively preserved here and available in it’s original intended state of production for the very first time on DVD.

Paula sings LIVE in this concert, no lipsyncing. It’s an incredible performance; she pours her heart into every number with passion and sensuality that only Paula can deliver. For example performing “Rush, Rush” you can see the emotion that flows in her eyes. This concert and you’ll see what I mean. Some funky dance numbers also like “Straighht Up”, “Vibeology” and “Opposites Attract” where a funny number with MC Skat Cat where he says a few lines in Japanese to the crowd! It’s adorable. it’s more than just your run of the mill concert, all the elements are there. great songs, a tight band, energetic dancers and of course amazing choreography.

In an interview prior to going on tour Paula stated that she’d seen both Madonna and Janet Jackson’s tours in 1990 and that she wanted to incorporate some of the energy and spectacle from them but also wanted her show to be more exciting and more striking. Well all I can say is that she most definitely succeeded, combining intense dancing, video special effects, flying ballet dancers, Paula’s show was definitely one of a kind.
