Prince performs two songs in a row going against the normal format of the program which usually dictates that one song is performed in the first 1/3 of the show and the second about 2/3 the way through the program. Songs perform include “Clouds” and “Marz”. Closing segment Chris Rock thanks Prince but he is a no show at the ending segment.

The 65-year-old singer appeared on Anderson Cooper 360 live via satellite on Thursday night (April 21) to discuss the news and pay tribute to Prince with a piano rendition of “Purple Rain.” “Well, it’s a heartbreak and I was shocked. I didn’t believe it. I find it so hard to believe,” Stevie said. “In this journey of music, we as artists create a reflection of society and the people really want to see a better world, a better people, a unity of people, all of things, as did his music too and will continue to do for those of us who will continue to listen to it. It’s heartbreaking to lose a member of that army of love.” Stevie closes the segment with a live performance on piano from Los Angeles in honor of Prince. News report from Princes home in Chanhassen, MN. includes footage of hundreds of fans outside of Paisley Park paying homage. Interview with Jon Pareles (Chief Pop Music Critic, New York Times) along with Alan Light Contributing editor for Rolling Stone Magazine who comment on the musical legacy of Prince. Anderson also interviews Michaela Angela Davis (Cultural Civics Writer) as she was also Prince’s “Stylist”.  Next segment opens up with a vintage funny interview comedian Chris Rock did with Prince for VH1 in 1999. Later AC interviews Music Producer Jimmy Jam (of Jam & Lewis Production Team) from Agoura Hills, California. Jimmy discusses growing up with Prince as he was  fellow student in school and eventually getting fired from The Time. Profile of Prince’s relationships with Vanity, Madonna, Carmen Elektra and a interview clip from Mayle Garcia Prince’s Ex-Wife.
