Originally known as first Southern Death Cult, then Death Cult, the band was formed by lead singer Ian Astbury (b. 14 May 1962, Heswell, Merseyside, England) in 1981. After a youth spent in Scotland and Canada (where he gained early exposure to the culture of native Indians on the Six Nations Reservation, Where he got his native american image. Known for there goth rock sound, the cult have been an influence to all rock bands.For not many have heard of the cult or remember the screaming vocals of ian Astbury and the pure rock guitar of Billy Duff. The Cult remain together making incredible music for the new generation to hear the Cult proved they still deliver live and fans Are not disappointed
